Creating access to expert Dermatology across the Pacific

Pacific Dermatology is an Australian not for profit organisation committed to improving skin health in the South Pacific. Our work is based in Fiji, and we aim to engage with as many Pacific nations as possible to drive change nation by nation.

Our vision

Everyone in the South Pacific has access to specialised skin health services in their country.

Our purpose

Our initial focus has been doctor training – increasing the number of doctors with specialist Dermatology expertise to lead in the prevention and management of skin disease. We are now broadening our scope to include nurse training and the development of skin health services, together with improved facilities for patients.

Meet our board

Robyn Burley

DIRECTOR
Robyn has extensive experience in medical education and workforce planning. Her most recent roles include Executive General Manager, Education and Assessment at the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, and Executive Director, Workforce Planning and Development at NSW Health. She has led initiatives in medical education policy at both state and national levels and oversaw physician postgraduate education programs across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand. Robyn brings strong expertise in governance, workforce strategy, and professional training.

Tim Wills

Chair
Tim was CEO of the Australasian College of Dermatologists until 2022, where he led initiatives in Dermatology training and international collaboration. He helped the College secure hosting rights for the 2023 World Congress of Dermatology, strengthening links with the International League of Dermatological Societies, the WHO, and global training programs such as Moshi, Tanzania. Tim brings deep expertise in Dermatology education, governance, and strategic leadership, with extensive experience working with boards and managing organisational growth, people, risk, and financial operations.

Yvette Vignando

DIRECTOR
Yvette is an experienced executive and governance leader with a strong background in education, workforce development, and the not-for-profit sector. She has worked across government and professional organisations, contributing to policy development and strategic transformation initiatives. Yvette’s experience spans leadership, stakeholder engagement, and program delivery in complex health and education systems. She is deeply committed to improving access to professional training and strengthening health outcomes across communities in Australia and the Pacific.

Dr Margot Whitfeld

DIRECTOR
Associate Professor Margot Whitfeld is a Sydney-based dermatologist with over 30 years’ experience in Dermatology research and education in the Pacific. Since 1994 she has worked extensively in Fiji and neighbouring nations, leading studies funded by the NHMRC and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. At St Vincent’s Hospital, she served as Head of Department for nine years and continues to lecture at UNSW, Notre Dame and the University of Sydney. Margot is internationally recognised for her leadership in tropical skin disease and global Dermatology education.

John Anderson

DIRECTOR
John is an experienced executive and practising lawyer whose career spans disability, health care, and medical technology sectors. He has held senior roles across public and not-for-profit organisations, including Chief Corporate Officer of a national health provider and leadership positions in Victoria’s public health system. His expertise includes strategy, governance, service planning, and workforce capability development. John holds qualifications in biological science, business, law, and governance, and is a Fellow of both the Governance Institute of Australia and ACHSM.

Tracy Pemberton

DIRECTOR
Tracy is co-founder and Director of Miller Blue Group, a boutique consulting firm that helps governments and purpose-driven organisations deliver policy, workforce, and digital transformation. With over 15 years in the healthcare sector, she has developed deep expertise in medical education pathways, organisational design, and regulatory environments. Tracy’s work focuses on creating sustainable systems and innovative solutions that improve outcomes for communities and health professionals alike.

William Teasdale

DIRECTOR

Will is a Partner at Sydney-based corporate advisory firm Newton Advisory Partners. With more than 30 years’ experience in mergers and acquisitions across Australia, the UK, and Asia, he brings strong commercial and governance expertise to the board. In addition to his corporate work, Will serves as Treasurer of the First Hike Project, a not-for-profit organisation that supports youth and community engagement through outdoor experiences.

Nalini Prakash

DIRECTOR

Nalini Prakash originally from Fiji and now based in Australia, is an accomplished C-suite executive with extensive experience in strategic and operational leadership across the health and not-for-profit sectors. 

Recognised for her innovative and strategic leadership, Nalini brings deep expertise in IT, digital health, data, cyber security, enterprise project delivery, governance, and risk management. She holds an Executive MBA, a Master’s in Project Management (MPM), and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD).
