Why Your Support Matters

Skin conditions are the fourth leading cause of non-fatal disease burden worldwide. In Fiji, there is only one specialist dermatologist, and in Papua New Guinea, just three. This shortage means many Pacific people go without access to essential skin care — particularly children, who are most affected by preventable skin diseases.

With your help, we can continue to train and graduate Pacific-based skin specialists, improving health and quality of life across the region.

What Your Donation Supports

Your generosity directly contributes to:

Scholarships for Pacific doctors to complete the Master of Medicine (Dermatology) and Postgraduate Diploma programs.
Expansion of the Pacific Dermatology Training Centre in Suva to improve facilities for patients and education.
Development of laboratory and pathology services, including dermatopathology and fungal diagnostics, to strengthen the region’s health infrastructure.

Since 2019, 11 Diploma graduates and seven Master’s students from Fiji, Kiribati, Samoa, and the Solomon Islands have trained through our programs — with three new dermatologists graduating in 2024.
